Sharing projects

I didn't think I would get it done but I got my cottages put together! I am taking it to be quilted this week. For those of you in my group, the cottages are arranged in the order they were numbered in our packets. I wanted to keep them that way so I can easily refer to the sheet that Terri sent with our packet and remember who did each block. It was amazing how they all actually were coordinated even though we used such different fabrics! I decided to frame them all with a cream colored border just to even out our tiny differences in sizes. Then I put a green sashing between them with some other fabric I had in my stash that actually had Christmas cottages. The border also was Christmas fabric I had in my stash. The top measures about 59x78. I'm sorry the photo is a little blurry but hopefully when I take a picture of it when it is quilted, the picture will be better.

The other thing I worked on this week was my Winter Star wall hanging. It is the second in my seasons collection. It is about 60x60. I will hang it when I take down my fall quilt. I don't know if you can tell, but the quilting is in a snowflake pattern. I really enjoy making stars blocks!

But those cottages!!! I could yelp so loud you'd hear me! Lovely lovely lovely. It is like they are in a dream. Each one sashed and set perfectly. Together they make such a nice statement. They are darling!

GREAT job on getting your cottages put together so quickly! I was in Nanette's group and am waiting until I can make more so I can have a bed size quilt.
Wasn't the swap fun?!

Hi! I"m glad you enjoyed my blog and the antique quilt top. I stopped over to visit and see you are from/near Rehoboth Beach! My mom and sister live in New Castle and I went to Rehoboth for the day this summer with my nephews. I'll have to send you the post from it! We had such a good time. But my favorite part was the carmel corn we bought. Man that was the best carmel corn I"ve ever had!

what lovely quilts. I love the colours in the Winter Sky one. The cottages are so beautiful. The way you have framed and sashed them make them really look good together like houses within their own plots of land. Well done.

I got to see Kathy's cottage top in person today and...let me tell you....the photo in NO way does it justice. It is ADORABLE and she is so lucky to have had the perfect fabrics for the sashing and border. I can't wait to see it when it's quilted! Her snowflake quilt is also extremely pretty in person. We can't get a true idea of those quilts from her pictures. (AND...she knows she needs to get an upgraded camera!!! LOL)
