In the mood...

#191
note to followers...just 9 more to go (see my post from August 11th)

On Tuesday, this lovely teapot came in the mail from one of my dearest friends who knows I just love to sip tea and quilt. She gave me a mug that matches it last Christmas...isn't she just a dear!

I am finishing the  hand quilting on a table runner today but then I must really get in the mood for doing bindings...I have four projects sitting here waiting to have bindings done. Sometimes, by the time I get to the binding step I already have inspiration for a new project and want to get it started. I think that I'll do the binding some evening while watching TV but for some reason I just don't.  This weekend must really be a binding weekend. I am going to stick with that goal....but I am dying to start a new wall hanging with some super fabric I bought....Is there one step of the quilting process that you tend to put off thus increase your UFO pile?

I am a hand quilter, so I try to baste my quilts with needle and thread. Oh goodness, that kills my back. I now have purchased several of the curved basting pins. Much faster and easier, in my opinion. I enjoy sewing on the bindings. It means a project completed. That teapot is so cute. You are a lucky lady, indeed. Have a good day. Winona

The teapot is very cute. It was nice of her to send that to you. I don't mind bindings unless it's on a BIG quilt. If you need help with the bindings, let me know, okay?

Hey Kath...love the teapot!! As for your question, depends on lots of factors! Deadlines, new projects, timing etc. I do mostly machine things so when I do have hand quilting, sewing or finishing I can work it into TV time in the evening.

I have several quilts started, and am still in the block stage. I get bored to easily with a pattern and end up starting another! Except if it's crazy quilting, then I can't stop!

The teapot is sweet! And I'm like you... I wait on the binding. Looks like you've made good progress now, though.

Thanks for stopping at my blog, your new little tea pot is very cute. I find basting is the real beast for me, having to round up help, cleaning the floor within an inch of it's life, rolling the layers... ACK! I like the before and after parts though - even cutting (which I used to hate) has started growing on me.

I love your teapot. I have a few teapots and would have more if I had room. lol I hate making a quilt sandwich. I procrastinate and put off for way too long. I have alot of flimsies. :( I am going to do something about that this winter. Goal! I like sitting and doing the binding by hand, so nice to know I'll soon be done.

Thank you for visiting me! I am a teapot lover too. :-) I have no idea where mine are now, but I do have a couple cuties. :-) I always get stuck at quilting, figuring out what to quilt and then actually getting it done. Oh and bindings too~ once it is partway on the quilt though, then I like the hand stitching part. LOL
