quilt show

It has been a very busy week. On Thursday. our guild went to a quilt show at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA and then stopped at the Plain and Fancy restaurante in Bird-in-Hand, PA (Lancaster County) for dinner. It was a long day but really worth it. I bought some new gadgets and fabric but mostly enjoyed looking at the quilts. I was a little disappointed with some of the fabric I bought because the color bled terribly when I washed it before putting it away. I'll not be able to use it for a quilt but perhaps it will be ok for some other crafts I might do.

I took some pictures of quilts in the show but the lighting wasn't the greatest for good pictures.

When I got home from the show, company from PA was waiting. They stopped at our place on their way home from NC. My husband had entertained them until I got home...they are great friends and didn't mind that I was at the quilt show. They left Friday and we prepared for the big Hannah tropical storm....bought batteries, got extra bread, moved the deck furniture, etc. The storm really didn't amount to much here...a couple hours of wind and rain and it was over.

I also got my fall wallhanging quilt back from the quilter's. She does such a fantastic job each time. The quilt design was leaves and we chose some variegated brown thread for the quilting. I chose the orange fabric that was in one of the blocks for the binding. It finished about 58x72. I'll have to get the ladder out to hang it.

Thanks for posting pictures of the show! I hated to miss the Harrisburg show this year, but with our show opening at the same time it was just too much to pack into one weekend.

Really beautiful quilts. I would love to come east and visit some of these shows sometime.

Bird in Hand is such a cute community. I'm glad you had fun. The Harrisburg show sounds wonderful.
