retrospective

#190
I started to think about other quilts that I have made over the years - the different patterns and colors that I have used. This is one I made about 3 years ago when we first moved into our house here in DE. I have a large blank wall in the den and wanted a quilt to hang there. I think it is fun to go back and look at older quilts and, think about what was going on in my life when I made them. Do you have any quilts that bring back memories?
Enough of the mind wandering. The weekend with the grandkids is over. The beds have all been changed, dishes put away, rooms vacuumed. It is now time for me and my quilting. I am working on some applique pieces, not very exciting but calming as I can just sit with my feet up and let my hands do the work.

By the way, over the last few posts, I have asked some questions about your quilting....it has been so much fun reading your comments.

Isn't it wonderful how quilts hold memories. I love the flying geese around your quilt.

I love those flying geese. I have been quilting for almost 4 years now, but haven't gotten up the nerve to do a flying geese border just yet. LOL Yours looks fabulous. I actually have those pinks/reds in my stash. Yes, I have a few quilts (actually now belonging to family members) that hold special memories for me. When I see them, I automatically think back to what was going on in my life at that time. (grin) Great post. Winona

Oh boy! When I look back at the very 1st quilt that I ever made, the words "what was I thinking" come to my mind. The colors were horrible and the scale of prints were all the same, but I was so proud of it when I got done with it!

Thanks for sharing,
Stefanie

I agree...our older quilts can almost take us back in time...we remember what was going on in our lives while working on them!
